Justus Magazine’s debut edition, Issue 01 ~ An Ode To Foiling, was revealed in November 2011 at a special launch party held at the studio’s creative hub location in Surry Hills, Sydney.
More than 150 members of the Justus Magazine family gathered together to hang their personalised Justus business cards on the family tree, mixing and mingling with industry heavyweights. Print, paper and specialty suppliers to the print design industry gathered to meet graphic designers and the Justus team.
Letterpress printers The Distillery ran a letterpress station offering guests the chance to print a handcrafted message. Illustrator Nathaniel Eckstrom laboured throughout the night illustrating a beautiful monochromatic mural that interpreted the Justus family. A striking, white painted model posed on a pedestal as the enchanted crowd watched the magazine’s pages projected onto her body.
Sponsored by Grant Burge Wines, Finlandia Vodka and Woodford Reserve, and styled by celebrity event company AZB Creative, the event was a visual feast with a cornucopia spread of delicacies and black and white sweets.
